own soundsets or instroments in cubase

hi ! is there anybody out there who has time to help somebody (me) who is a little slow on the unerstanding of banks ,sets,+instroments ??.what i want to do is this-: on my cubase vst i record an idear for the drum part with midi, but the drum sounds on my ews are ok but they still sound like --well midi ! lifeless,sythetic etc.i want to load drum sounds from a sample cd and use the midi part which i have just written to trigger the sampled drum sounds. i know that this is a standard practise for many but i just cant seem to grasp it,for egsample-:if i load all the tts files into the ram on the ews and set priority numbers,how do i load or use them in cubase ???????

Hi,
First you need to build your soundset with Ed!son.When you build it,make it with instruments on variation x(x is a number between 1 and 128) and drumsets on variation y. For ewample x=2 and y=2.
Load it in the bank manager with the highest priority.
Then in cubase, you have two ways to command these sounds:
First:in the inspextor(information on tracks on the left)select the patch number and for the bank number you have to do : x*128 (for x=2 in the bank number entry 256)
Second:in the list edit select control change and make a msb message(control 0) and for the value entry x then after make a program change message with the number of the instrument.
It's the same for drumsets.
